PSAT: The preliminary SAT will be given at Boiling Springs High School on
Wednesday, October 12, 2022. By taking the PSAT, students practice for the SAT, compete for national scholarships, get mail from colleges and get feedback about important academic skills. The test measures critical reading, math and writing skills. Although the test is open to students in grades 9-11, juniors who intend to pursue post secondary education should plan on taking the PSAT this fall. After receiving scores in December, juniors are encouraged to register for a spring SAT test day.

Military
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) will be administered on September 19, 2022 at 8:00 am at Boiling Springs High School. The test provides information about vocational aptitudes that are helpful in career planning, not only for those interested in joining the military. The military services use this information for recruiting and research. If students are considering enlistment in the Armed Forces or want more information on career aptitudes and interests, they should strongly consider taking this test. Any student interested in taking the test should see Mrs. Nitchman or Miss Barr.
Selective Service: All male U.S. citizens and male aliens residing in the U.S. must register within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Registration may be completed in the counseling office, by mail, or online at www.sss.gov
